A dozen of my friends have told me these facts.Care homes with 20 residents have 5 x day staff, 3 x night staff, this is standard. Each resident is visited by staff 5 times a day for food,cups of tea,washing ect.This is also standard too.Nurses in care homes have been told(ordered)they must change PPE each time they enter a room because of cross contamination. PPE consists of, gloves x2,mask,gown,foot covers x 2. These are facts, and you can check them out and you will see I'm telling the truth, but please check them out for your own sanity.

6 x ppe each room visit

She will vist 20+ rooms a day.

She will use 120 x PPE each day.

840 per week

43,680 per year.

There are on average 10 nurses per care home = 436,800 x PPE per home, and that does not include management and visitors.

Multiply this figure by the number of care homes in the UK.According to Oscar Research, there are a total of 21,723 care homes in the UK, including Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. There are over 21,700 different care homes across the UK.

21,723 x 43,680=948,860,640.....94 billion? If you think that's mindblowing, lets remember out NHS. 1257 hospitals in the UK with---- The number of nurses in the NHS in England increased by 13,313 on last year to a record 299,184, and the number of doctors rose by 6,030 to a record 122,446, figures to the end of September show.

Imagine if the NHS mad etheir nurses and doctors change PPE too? That's right they do! 

So to recap, in just one day of changing PPE, there would be enough contaminated waste to circle the earth ten times, and in one week, enough to reach the moon.

This is unsustainable, have you woke up yet?
