A brave new world.
Chatting to a friend I recalled my days camping on the Rec at Fenni. Every Fri/Sat night we would pitch our tents in the Rec woods, or sometimes Stanhill, Witton, or up the canal somewhere. Our parents had a rough idea where we were. The wife used to sneak out of the bathroom window and join us, we were young, and that's what we did. We had the time of our lives, and never once had to worry about our safety. I suggested my grankids could camp out, but only in the back garden. I then realised, I would have to sit at the back door all night, just in case. There is no way I'd risk leaving them alone in this day and age. It's not even half a century, and the world has changed. A young girl was shot only a mile from here, muslim rape gangs are ignored, no go area's in my own town, it's just not safe anymore.
I have seen 10 different PMs in my life, and everyone has brought us deeper down, and I don't know where it will end.The elected leaders are nothing but self serving, and we keep voting them in. In 50 odd years, 10 different PMs, 2 parties, and there is no chance of change. In my lifetime.....The expenses scandal was brushed under the carpet, as was Brexit(we will never leave)Blair butchered thousands in a false Iraq war,Poll tax, the Miners strike, the Profumo scandal, and so many more. They have in their wisdom given them selves 37 pay rises, and introduced 11,385 new laws, to keep them safe, and us in our place. The virus is their new trick, and where it will take us, who knows? These politicians are for them, and do not care for the rest, but we keep voting them in. Some clever guy once said, repeating the same experiment and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.
It's time for change.
